PicoSASneo

Note: The Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) system and associated intellectual property described on this page are no longer part of Picotech Ltd.
All SAS-related system design, processing capability and product IP have been transferred to Torr Robotics Ltd, where this technology is now held.
The material below is retained for reference.

Miniature Synthetic Aperture Sonar with lower SWaP-C than RAS/MAS side-scan:

  • Size – neo is a diminutive SAS with miniature transducers
  • Weight – neo has lower mass than RAS/MAS side-scan.
  • Power – neo dissipates just 12W including onboard real-time SAS processing (18mm x 18mm res.) – less than conventional RAS/MAS side-scan (30W)
  • Cost – neo costs less than a conventional RAS/MAS side-scan

Designed for Contested Environments — Strong encryption safeguards mission data and proprietary system IP in the event of loss, theft, or capture.

PicoSASneo outputs real-time SAS image tiles in GeoTIFF format, georeferenced in UTM (WGS-84) for ingestion by ATR systems onboard the host AUV.

PicoSASneo Optional Post-Mission Processor

Add-on — not required for onboard real-time operation.

Picotech Ltd’s massively parallel optional Post-Mission Processor enables reprocessing encrypted, element-level sensor data after the mission.

  • 2 orders of magnitude faster than real-time (min server loadout).
  • 3 orders of magnitude faster than real-time (max server loadout).
